What a duct replacement actually involves
We start by mapping where the air is supposed to go and where it is actually going. Then we pull the failed runs out, usually from a basement, attic or crawlspace, and build new ones sized to the equipment you have. That means proper trunk and branch sizing, sealed joints, supported hangers instead of sagging flex, and insulation on anything running through unconditioned space. We put drop cloths down and we clean up. Most homes are done in a day or two depending on how many runs need to come out.
What we check and what we install
Before we quote anything we check static pressure, return air capacity, register counts, and the condition of the plenum and boots. Undersized returns are the most common problem we find, and adding supply duct without fixing the return just moves the noise around. We install rigid metal where clearance allows, insulated flex where it makes sense, sealed boots at every register, and new dampers so the system can be balanced. If we find asbestos-wrapped duct in an older house, we stop and tell you before touching it.
How we decide replacement beats repair
Repair wins more often than people expect. Sealing joints, patching one crushed run or reattaching a disconnected boot is cheaper and quicker, and we will say so. Replacement becomes the call when the metal is rusted through, when flex has torn along most of its length, when the duct is so undersized that the system runs high static pressure and short-cycles, or when a previous remodel left rooms with no real supply path. We show you photos of what we found so the decision is yours, not ours.

Will new ductwork fix rooms that never get warm or cool?
Usually yes, if the ducts are the cause. Leaking, crushed or undersized runs starve far rooms of air. We measure airflow at each register first so we know the duct is the problem and not the equipment.
Do you have to tear open walls and ceilings?
Often not. Most homes in the region let us work from the basement, crawlspace or attic. If a run is buried in a finished wall we discuss access and patching with you before we cut anything.
Should I replace ducts at the same time as a new furnace or AC?
It is the easiest time to do it. New equipment moves air differently, and old undersized duct can hold back a system you just paid for. We inspect the ductwork during any replacement estimate.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That short conversation tells us whether you need a visit today or tomorrow morning.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and ducts, and the equipment itself. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the noise goes away.
- Step 3
You decide before we work
We explain what failed, what the repair involves, and what we would do if it were our own house. Nothing gets replaced until you say go. Then we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses and new onesWe are used to century-old homes with retrofitted ductwork and 1970s subdivisions with original returns. Tight crawl spaces, low basement headroom and odd attic runs are normal parts of the day for us, not surprises that stall the job.
- Built for the swingsHumid summers push AC systems hard and January freezes expose weak igniters and cracked flues. We repair for both extremes across the region, so the fix holds when the weather turns instead of failing the first hard week.
- Air conditioning and heating bothAir conditioner repair in July, heating repair in January, and the IAQ and airflow problems that hide in between. One crew that knows how your cooling and heating share the same blower and the same duct system.
- Plain talk, no pressureWe tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the honest answer. No scare tactics about your BTU load, no upsell scripts. You get the condition of the system and a clear next step.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
