Whether you call it duct sealing or air duct repair, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.
What the job involves
We start at the air handler or furnace and work outward, checking every joint, seam, take-off and boot we can reach. Leaks get sealed with mastic and mesh or with proper foil-backed tape, not the cloth tape that dries out and peels in a hot attic. Disconnected runs get reattached and supported. Where insulation has been torn or compressed, we repair it so the sealed duct is not sweating in a humid July. Then we confirm airflow at the registers before we pack up.
What we check and install
We look at static pressure, register temperatures and how the system behaves with doors open and closed. Common finds in older homes include panned floor joists used as return ducts, crushed flex in a crawlspace, and boots that were never sealed to the subfloor. We seal accessible seams, replace failed flex sections, add or repair hangers, and correct plenum connections. If a return is badly undersized, we say so instead of sealing around a problem that sealing will not solve.
How we decide it is the right call
Sealing is the right call when the equipment is running fine but the air is not landing where it should. Rooms far from the furnace staying warm in summer, dust on registers, a whistling return, or a system that runs long cycles without satisfying the thermostat all point that direction. If the real issue is a failing blower, a low refrigerant charge, or duct that is simply too small, we tell you that first. We would rather fix the cause than sell you tape.

Will duct sealing help with one hot room upstairs?
Often yes, if that room's supply run is leaking into an attic or wall cavity. We measure airflow at that register first, because undersized duct or a closed damper can cause the same symptom.
Does duct sealing reduce dust in the house?
It helps. Leaky returns in a basement or crawlspace pull in dust and humid air that your filter never sees. Sealing those returns means more of your air comes from inside the living space.
Can you seal ducts we cannot get to?
We seal what is accessible from basements, crawlspaces, attics and mechanical closets. For runs buried in finished walls or floors, we look at the reachable boots and connections and explain the realistic options.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That short conversation tells us whether you need a visit today or tomorrow morning.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and ducts, and the equipment itself. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the noise goes away.
- Step 3
You decide before we work
We explain what failed, what the repair involves, and what we would do if it were our own house. Nothing gets replaced until you say go. Then we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses and new onesWe are used to century-old homes with retrofitted ductwork and 1970s subdivisions with original returns. Tight crawl spaces, low basement headroom and odd attic runs are normal parts of the day for us, not surprises that stall the job.
- Built for the swingsHumid summers push AC systems hard and January freezes expose weak igniters and cracked flues. We repair for both extremes across the region, so the fix holds when the weather turns instead of failing the first hard week.
- Air conditioning and heating bothAir conditioner repair in July, heating repair in January, and the IAQ and airflow problems that hide in between. One crew that knows how your cooling and heating share the same blower and the same duct system.
- Plain talk, no pressureWe tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the honest answer. No scare tactics about your BTU load, no upsell scripts. You get the condition of the system and a clear next step.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
