What The Job Involves
A UV light job means mounting a lamp inside the air handler or plenum where it can shine on the evaporator coil and the wet drain pan, the two spots where biological growth actually starts. Ventilation work is different. That is bringing measured fresh air into the house and exhausting stale, humid air, usually with a fresh air intake or an energy recovery ventilator tied into your existing ductwork. Both are done with the system powered down and buttoned back up before we leave.Ul. We test the lamp and airflow before we go.
What We Check Or Install
We start by opening the air handler and looking at the coil, the pan and the first few feet of duct. If there is growth, we clean before we add light, because a UV lamp does not fix a mess already there. We check filter fit, return leakage, humidity readings and whether bath and kitchen exhaust actually vents outside instead of into an attic. Then we size the lamp to the coil, or size the ventilator to the house, and wire it to run with the blower.
How We Decide It Is The Right Call
Sometimes the answer is no. If your problem is a clogged filter, a plugged condensate line or a duct pulling air from a damp crawlspace, we fix that and skip the add-on. UV makes sense when the coil keeps growing mold in humid summers and the house has recurring musty odor at startup. Ventilation makes sense in a tight, newer home where windows sweat and odors linger. Older houses across the region often leak enough already. We tell you which one you are.

Will a UV light replace my air filter?
No. A filter captures dust and particles moving through the return. A UV lamp treats growth on the wet coil and drain pan it shines on. They handle different problems, so you still change filters on schedule.
How often do UV lamps need replacing?
Most lamps lose useful output after roughly one to two years even while still glowing, so replacement is on a schedule, not on whether it looks lit. We note the install date and check output at maintenance visits.
Does adding ventilation make my heating and cooling work harder?
Some, yes. That is why we size it to the house instead of guessing. An energy recovery ventilator moves heat and moisture between incoming and outgoing air, which keeps the load on your system reasonable.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That short conversation tells us whether you need a visit today or tomorrow morning.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and ducts, and the equipment itself. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the noise goes away.
- Step 3
You decide before we work
We explain what failed, what the repair involves, and what we would do if it were our own house. Nothing gets replaced until you say go. Then we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses and new onesWe are used to century-old homes with retrofitted ductwork and 1970s subdivisions with original returns. Tight crawl spaces, low basement headroom and odd attic runs are normal parts of the day for us, not surprises that stall the job.
- Built for the swingsHumid summers push AC systems hard and January freezes expose weak igniters and cracked flues. We repair for both extremes across the region, so the fix holds when the weather turns instead of failing the first hard week.
- Air conditioning and heating bothAir conditioner repair in July, heating repair in January, and the IAQ and airflow problems that hide in between. One crew that knows how your cooling and heating share the same blower and the same duct system.
- Plain talk, no pressureWe tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the honest answer. No scare tactics about your BTU load, no upsell scripts. You get the condition of the system and a clear next step.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
