What the job involves
A whole-home air purifier goes into the return side of your furnace or air handler, not in a single room. We measure the cabinet and plenum, confirm there is clearance to cut in a housing, and check that your blower can move air through the added media without starving the system. Wiring for powered units ties into a low-voltage or line-voltage source depending on the model. Most installs are a half day, and we run the system afterward to confirm airflow at the registers still feels right.
What we check and install
We start with the parts already there. Filter size and condition, return sizing, duct leaks pulling attic or crawlspace air into the system, and static pressure readings that tell us how hard the blower is working. From there we size media filtration, a polarized or electronic unit, or an ultraviolet lamp paired with better filtration, based on what you are actually fighting. We also look at the filter slot itself, since a gapped or bypassing filter undoes the work of anything you add downstream.
How we decide it is the right call
An air purifier helps with particles and some odors. It does not fix humidity, and it will not solve a problem caused by duct leakage or an undersized return. So we rule those out first. If your ducts are pulling dirty air from unconditioned space, sealing that comes before filtration. If your issue is summer stickiness and musty smells, dehumidification is the better spend. When the complaint is dust, dander and pollen in a home with sound ductwork, whole-home filtration earns its keep.

Will a whole-home air purifier restrict my airflow?
It can if it is sized wrong. Deeper media filters usually add less resistance than a thick one-inch filter, but we take static pressure readings before and after so the blower is not fighting the new housing.
Does it only work when the system is running?
Yes. Air has to move through the ductwork to be treated. On many systems we can set the blower to run in a low-speed circulation mode between heating and cooling cycles so filtration keeps working.
How often does the media or lamp need changing?
Media cartridges typically run six months to a year depending on pets, dust and how much the system runs. Ultraviolet lamps lose output before they burn out, so most get replaced annually. We note the schedule at install.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads. That short conversation tells us whether you need a visit today or tomorrow morning.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and ducts, and the equipment itself. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the noise goes away.
- Step 3
You decide before we work
We explain what failed, what the repair involves, and what we would do if it were our own house. Nothing gets replaced until you say go. Then we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Old houses and new onesWe are used to century-old homes with retrofitted ductwork and 1970s subdivisions with original returns. Tight crawl spaces, low basement headroom and odd attic runs are normal parts of the day for us, not surprises that stall the job.
- Built for the swingsHumid summers push AC systems hard and January freezes expose weak igniters and cracked flues. We repair for both extremes across the region, so the fix holds when the weather turns instead of failing the first hard week.
- Air conditioning and heating bothAir conditioner repair in July, heating repair in January, and the IAQ and airflow problems that hide in between. One crew that knows how your cooling and heating share the same blower and the same duct system.
- Plain talk, no pressureWe tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the honest answer. No scare tactics about your BTU load, no upsell scripts. You get the condition of the system and a clear next step.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
